My professional background began long before dentistry or investment advisory work. It began with family, work, responsibility, and learning the value of persistence.

I was born in Hawaii and spent my first few years there. My father was a military helicopter pilot and my mother was a music teacher. After our family returned to San Antonio, my father went back to school and became a dentist.

My parents worked hard to support and grow our family. They worked extra jobs, returned bottles, and delivered newspapers while building a better future for us. That example stayed with me.

I spent the rest of my youth in Floresville, a country town outside San Antonio. From age 12 to 17, I worked construction jobs for ranchers and homeowners. That work taught me how to show up, solve practical problems, and respect people who earn what they have.

At 17, I moved to San Antonio to attend UTSA. I worked my way through school and, after three years, entered dental school in San Antonio.

Those early years shaped how I see work, money, and opportunity. They also shaped how I relate to clients who have built wealth through years of effort, risk, and responsibility.

Dentistry became my first professional career. It was a field where precision, judgment, and trust mattered every day. After graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, I later became a co-owner of Chandler Dental Clinic and then the owner of Chandler Dental Center.

Over time, dentistry became more than a clinical career. It became a place where I learned how to lead a business, make careful decisions, communicate clearly, and build long-term trust with people who depend on professional judgment.

Some dental credentials can be hard to understand outside the profession. But they matter because they show a long record of commitment, discipline, and peer recognition.

I was a finalist for Texas Dentist of the Year two times. That recognition helps show a level of success and respect in my first profession.

I also earned Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and received LLSR recognition. These are not casual accomplishments. They represent years of continuing education, professional involvement, and a willingness to keep improving. Master AGD status is held by fewer than 1% of dentists, which reflects a serious commitment to the profession.

Beyond my own practice, I helped create and serve on financial committees and investment committees for dental organizations. That work gave me experience with budgeting, stewardship, risk, and long-term planning inside professional organizations.

At the state level, I served Texas through a two-year Blue Ribbon Committee and as a State Board reviewer. I have also held presidential, board, and director positions nationally, statewide, and locally across several dental organizations.

These roles strengthened the way I think about responsibility. They required preparation, judgment, and the ability to make decisions for the benefit of a larger group.

For more than 20 years, I have lectured on finance and retirement planning. I have spoken at dental schools, study clubs, national continuing education symposiums, and conferences.

Over those years, I saw a pattern. Many successful professionals were building wealth, but they were not always getting the kind of personal investment guidance they needed. Too often, the investment world felt like a large corporate checklist. The service was bundled, standardized, and not built around the individual client.

That gap is one reason I entered the field of investment advising.

My goal was to serve a limited group of high-net-worth clients who want a more personal portfolio and a more thoughtful relationship. These are people who have worked hard, built meaningful wealth, and want their planning handled with care.

I believe the right planning should do more than manage accounts. It should help clients make better decisions about work, retirement, income, risk, and long-term family goals.

My goal is to help clients retire earlier when possible, retire with income greater than what they had while working, and continue to grow their wealth through retirement.

That is an ambitious standard. It requires careful planning, disciplined investing, and ongoing review. It also requires a personal understanding of the client, not just a standard allocation model.

My history is not only about credentials or titles. It is about years of responsibility, continued learning, and working with people who expect professionalism, discretion, and clear thinking.

That is the standard I try to bring to every client relationship.
